I am a Pakistani Muslim. And I believe it’s time we Muslims launch a united battle against religious radicalism.
Terror incidents like Kabul blast underscore the importance of countering the extremist propaganda. Law enforcement agencies may prevent terrorist attacks some times, but not all of the time. And there is little the security agencies can do to counter the ideology of the extremists.
Therefore, there is a need for a strong intellectual and theological case against religious radicalism. And such a case can be developed through religious leaders who command great influence over the youth. Our scholars must be put on the forefront to prevent extremism in society.
