Khuzdar: PML-N Senator Engineer Agha Shahbaz Durrani passed away due to cardiac arrest early Sunday morning. He was brother in law of Chief Minister Balochistan, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri.
Senator Shahbaz Durrani, 41, was suffering from heart problems for over a year. He suffered three heart attacks during this period and went abroad for treatment multiple times. He had recently travelled to USA for heart treatment.
He had come to Khuzdar to celebrate Eid and on Sunday early morning he suffered another heart attack. He was taken to a local hospital but could not survive and passed away.
Funeral prayer of deceased senator was held in Khuzdar on Sunday evening. Prayer was attended by Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Mir Hasil Bizenjo, Senator Mir Kabir Muhammad Shahi, Provincial Minister for Agriculture and Finance Sardar Aslam Bizenjo, Chairman District Council Khuzdar and younger brother of Senator Shahbaz Durrani, Shakil Durrani amongst others. Deceased Senator was laid to rest in family graveyard in Khuzdar after funeral prayer.
Senator Shahbaz Durrani was elected as Senator from Balochistan on seat of Technocrats and Ulema on ticket of PML-N in 2015. Currently, he was serving as Chairman of Senate Functional Committee on Government Assurance. He had studied Bachelors in Engineering from Balochistan University of Engineering and Technology Khuzdar and Masters in Engineering from University of British Columbia, Vancouver Canada.
Senator Shahbaz Durrani was instrumental in donating Rs. 1 million for cancer patient Hajira on behalf of CM Balochistan in January 2016. That donation made it possible for civil society Balochistan to carry out timely treatment of Hajira.
