Balochistan High Court Stops Work on Unapproved Development Schemes

Quetta: Balochistan High Court (BHC) has ordered the Planning and Development (P&D) department of province to stop any work on the unapproved development schemes incorporated in Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
A divisional bench of Bench comprising of Justice Jamal Mandokhail and Justice Nazeer Langove issued the order in response to a Constitutional Petition filed by Muhammad Alam Mandokhail. BHC issued the order on 26th August and it was announced on 6th September. A copy of the order is available with Balochistan Voices.
In the order, BHC bench quotes the Supreme Court judgment in Rahim Ziaratwal case which comprised of preparing PC-1 in proper way and in accordance with rules and regulations.
BHC asked Additional Chief Secretary (P&D) to stop further work on unapproved scheme till the next hearing of the case which is scheduled for 30th September.

The petition of Muhammad Alam Mandokhail had claimed the government is not following rules and procedures in development spending and specifically mentioned the Youth and Medical support Program.
Additional Chief Secretary (P&D) and Advocate General of Balochistan assured court that they will comply with the order of Supreme Court about PC-1 and will stop work on unapproved schemes.
