Quetta: Passengers who have to travel from Quetta to other parts of the country at the beginning of winter season are suffering due to the closure of special train service in winter, learned Balochistan Voices.
When the winters approach and the academic year ends in Quetta, people in large number leave Quetta to their warmer other towns. Normally a special winter train was operated for this purpose which has been suspended this year.
Passengers at Quetta Railway Station told Balochistan Voices that it is the unjust behavior of federal government with Balochistan.
“Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Sad Rafique makes big announcements during press briefing but we are still deprived of facilities in local train service,” said Passengers. The added while talking to Balochistan Voices that there is lack of basic facilities in Quetta Railway Station ticket reservation counter. Neither facility of drinking water nor any bathroom facility is available. The government has not even made a sitting area for passengers.”
According to Railway Sources, Jaffar Express, Chiltan and Abbasin Express were operated from Quetta. Abbasin Express was counted in best and top 10 earning train services of the country. Due to unknown reason it was stopped a couple of years before.
People demand from Federal Minister Railways to take action and issue orders to start winter train service from Quetta to other provinces of Country.
