Positive Steps of New Government in Balochistan Appreciated

Quetta: Public and political analysts and commentators have appreciated the series of positive steps taken by the new government of Balochistan under the leadership of Chief Minister (CM) Abdul Quddus Bizenjo.
Since assuming office on 13th January CM Bizenjo has taken multiple decisions which have warranted applause and appreciation by a wide range of Audience.
In the first cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, the new government approved the establishment of Chakar Khan Rind University in Sibi which was pending for more than a year due to an objection of former coalition partners Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP).
Cabinet announced to form a secretariat and desk for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Balochistan to coordinate all CPEC related activities in the province.
Furthermore, Balochistan government withdrew customs powers from Levies force and also asked Federal Government to withdraw Custom powers from Frontier Corp (FC). Provincial Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs, Sarfraz Bugti, also wanted all personnel against taking bribes at highway check posts or action would be taken against them.
The cabinet under the leadership of Cm Bizenjo also announced to carry out legislation in order to prevent the local people of Gwadar from converting into a minority in their own land. Cabinet also announced to functionalize the defunct Board of Investment (BOI) in Balochistan so that foreign investment can be attracted to Balochistan.
Even, Cm Bizenjo announced to send a delegation of senior politicians and members of civil society to firing countries to negotiate with Baloch insurgent leaders.
At a personal level, CM Bizenjo has ended the practice of closing roads when CM travels inside Quetta city. The motorcade of CM passes through the normal traffic and roads are not closed like the past practice. CM also makes surprise visits on daily basis to different government departments to inspect the state of affairs of those departments.
With just less than two weeks in office, the new CM Balochistan has received considerable appreciation from the public. People wish that Cm continues its positive decision making in next months to come before handing over power to caretaker setup.
