PPHI Board Approves Annual Accounts at 7th AGM

Quetta: The 7th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and 26th General meeting of Board of Directors PPHI-B held on 25th November 2020 at Head office PPHI under Chair of Mr. Munir Ahmed Badini, Chairperson BoD.
CEO PPHI Aziz Ahmad, Company Secretary Rafiq Raisani, Additional Secretary Health Tauqeer Ali, Additional Sec Finance Tariq Aziz Lasi, Chief Section Health Dr. Sattar Baloch, members of the board Dr. Shehnaz Naseer Baloch, Roshan Khursheed Barucha, Dr. Rashid Tarin, Irfan Ahmed Awan, and Qaisar Khan Jamali were present.
CEO PPHI presented the Agenda where discussed and decisions were taken. BoD approved Financial Accounts and Annual Audit report Financial Year 2020 of PPHI-B and MERC project.

PPHI is engaged in providing health care facilities to 631 BHUs of all districts in the restive province. Ten components of PPHI in the provision of primary health care facilities include Community participation, Provision of essential drugs, curative care, non-communicable disease, health education, improve nutritional status, immunization, maternal & child care, mental health, and provision of safe drinking water.
PPHI is also operating the Medical emergency Response Centers (MERC) Project. The MERC project was approved with a Rs3.41 billion budget. It envisaged establishing 25 centers on 8 highways in Balochistan. In the fiscal year 2018-19, a sum of Rs260 million was released to this project by the provincial government. This amount was used to establish 6 centers and train the emergency medical technicians at Rescue Services Academy in Lahore.

MERC has responded to 754 highway accidents in the last three months, according to the data released by Peoples Primary Health Care Initiatives (PPHI).
Rescue workers of MERC attended and provided first aid to 1,083 injured people. The highest number of road accidents were reported in the Baghbana area where 261 people were injured in 197 incidents, where the MERC team rescued and provided them first aid.
