Quetta: Five years of Balochistan Voices was celebrated by the Center for Excellence in Journalism through a Zoom session live-streamed on its Facebook page, on Thursday.
Balochistan Voices was established on 20th February 2016 and it completed five years two months back.
The title of the session was Five Years of Balochistan Voices: Challenges faced by digital media organizations. Kamal Siddiqi, Director of CEJ, moderated the session.
Panelists of the session included Adnan Aamir, Editor Balochistan Voices, Sualeha Qureshi, Creative Director SochVideos, and Iqbal Khattak, Executive Director, Freedom Network.
Speaking in the session editor of Balochistan Voices said that Balochistan Voices was established to highlight the ignored issues of the province. He highlighted the accomplishments of Balochistan Voices which has produced more than 2,000 stories, started data journalism in Balochistan, created a generation of writers, and help promote online journalism in Balochistan.
During the session, Sualeha Qureshi elaborated in detail about how content production of media houses has changed due to the behavior patterns of audiences. Iqbal Khattak said that independent digital media is taking over the media landscape of Pakistan.
